The holes are big enough for a fat sharpie or several pens and pencils. Each pencil holder is one of a kind and is made by hand from start to finish. A clear gloss enamel is applied after a final sanding. The bottom is covered by a layer of cork to give it a solid feel and added grip on smooth surfaces.
