A play by Marian Jonson from the story by Charles Dickens
A cricket on the hearth brings tremendous good luck, or at least so the old folk saying goes. However, the cricket on the hearth of the toymaker Caleb and his blind daughter Bertha is a peppery-tempered interfering sort of chap. Nonetheless, he is willing to help Bertha in the most important search of her life: for the secret of how to find the truth. This charming tale is enjoyable any season of the year.
