Adam Swanson is one of the world’s foremost performers of vintage American popular music, including ragtime and early jazz. With a bachelor’s in classical piano and a master’s in musicology from the Peabody Conservatory, Adam also holds the distinction of being the only four-time winner of the World Championship Old-Time Piano Playing Contest. His virtuoso piano pyrotechnics and unique concert style keep audiences on the edge of their seats while his storytelling and historical anecdotes take them on a tour through the American musical past, culminating with his personal arrangement of Gershwin’s famous “Rhapsody in Blue.” He has performed at Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, across Europe and Australia, and now Adam brings his incredible talent to Glen Allen!
